Our Staff   The Rev. Canon David P. Thomas, The Rector Fr. Dave has been Rector since August 1999.  He came to us from Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he had been rector of a parish for fourteen years.  He has been married to his wife, Susan, for thirty-five years and they have two grown daughters. Fr. Dave's three loves, other than God and family, are eating, laughing and preaching. rector@church-of-the-advent.com   The Rev. Anthony Vanucci, Assistant Rector The Rev. Anthony Vanucci (aka Fr. Tony) attended St. Mary’s University & Seminary, and has the following degrees:  B.A., S.T.B, S.T.L., & M. Ed (History).  Retired from St. James Episcopal Church, Bristol, PA, April 2007, and has been a supply priest from May, 2007.  Married to Anna Dewey since 1972.   My daughter Rebecca, 24, currently is in the Ph.D. program at the University of New Mexico. Fr. Tony joined the Advent staff in June 2008.   The Rev. Nancy Hauser, The Deacon Nancy joined us in August of 2005.  As a deacon, she works with the Pastoral Care and Outreach Commissions. deacon@church-of-the-advent.com Jim Power, Parish Administrator   Jim Power was hired as Parish Administrator beginning May 1, 2008.  He is a graduate of Cornell University where he majored in business administration and financial management.  During his career he has studied systems and procedures for managing a fiscally responsible operation through implementation of expense controls and team accountability.  Jim’s operational experience will allow our clergy to concentrate on pastoral ministry.  Jim may be contacted at advent-admin@comcast.net.  Jim and his wife Beth have two children, a son Conor and a daughter Kelly.      Kathy Prible, Director of Christian Education Kathy has been Director of Christian Education at Advent since 1997.    She is actively involved in the diocese as a member of the Christian Education Task Force,   CE Colleagues group, and the committee to develop a diocesan training plan for catechists.   She also belongs to the National Association of Episcopal Christian Education Directors. childrenschristianeducation@church-of-the-advent.com     Jan Berry Schroeder,  Director of Youth Ministry   Jan started as Director of Youth Ministry on September 1, 2006.   Her background includes a master’s degree in counseling and extensive experience working with youth, facilitating groups, and public speaking on topics including Christian based parents, and finding meaning in the ordinary.  An EFM graduate, she has taught church and vacation bible school for over 10 years.   youthdirector@church-of-the-advent.com   Wilson G. Somers, Director of Music Wilson has been the Director of Music at Advent since August of 2001.  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)   Kathy Gebhart, Office Manager Kathy started working at Advent in 1980 as the Parish Secretary. After a short leave with her children, she returned part-time, and finally full-time in 1989.  She has been the Office Manager here since 1996.  Kathy says "she is a devout Roman Catholic, but an Episcopalian during the work week". officemanager@church-of-the-advent.com   Ann Daemer, Parish Secretary Ann joined the staff on January 21, 1998, following maternity leave from Chester County.  Longtime friend and neighbor, Kathy Gebhart (Office Manager) told her of the available Parish Secretary position. parishsecretary@church-of-the-advent.com   Brian Walls, Sexton "Mr. Brian", as he is affectionately known, has been Advent's fulltime sexton since 1981.  He is the church's longest working full-time employee.  Brian helps maintain the church building and outside grounds.         Irma Vazquez, Sexton & Nursery   Irma joined the staff in 1998 as the weekend church sexton.  She now wears a dual hat and has also become the church's babysitter on Sundays, along with her weekend sexton duties.  Pictured with Irma is her niece Valerie Diego who assists in the Nursery on Sundays.
